Gmail archive – the other way around

This could be useful (if you don’t trust Gmail) to do the opposite of what I did here:

http://www.gmail-backup.com/
On the other hand, you could simply configure IMAP access in your desktop client of choice, and get your backup naturally like that. AND view your email in a different way.
