VMWARE vmci fails again… (Linux 3.11.10-7, opensuse)

Symptom:

Starting VMware services:
   Virtual machine monitor                                             done
   Virtual machine communication interface                            failed
   VM communication interface socket family                            done
   Blocking file system                                                done
   Virtual ethernet                                                    done
   VMware Authentication Daemon                                        done

And running

vmware-modconfig --build-mod vmci

seems to run fine, and the kernel module is there:

find /lib/modules -name vmci\*o
/lib/modules/3.11.10-7-desktop/misc/vmci.ko

SOLUTION: (too darn simple, it seems)

depmod -a

… and I was back in business….
